The present investigation centered on the study of behavior problems (Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder) among adolescents in the context of certain psychological behavioral variables. The impact of behavioral problems being in individuals makes them socially unacceptable because of their socially unacceptable and unpredictable reactions. This being the reason which makes them have great difficulty in social adjustments. The problems identified among such individuals for study were Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety and Loneliness in relation to Family Environment and School Environment. These behavioural problems posed a major hurdle for the afflicted individuals in their daily lives. A question was directed towards exploring the interactive impact and relationship of family environment, and school environment, on adolescents conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder and anxiety. Also towards segregating and lsolation of the specific impact variable was questioned. Finding answers towards reducing the psychological behavioral problems in adolescents the study was further classified into objectives which were subjected to empirical hypotheses testing.<br/>The result obtained by the study depicts the variables (Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety, Family Environment and School Environment) exercise an influence of Loneliness on the individuals studied.<br/>An interesting aspect regarding age of the adolescent emerged from the analysis, depicting that age was positively and significantly related with Family and School Environment. Hypothesis H,1a and H.1b were rejected But the analysis had a contrasting result of age with relationships, wherein H, 1c, H,1d were found failed to reject. The findings highlighted that there was no correlation of adolescent's age with the variable Spouse Relation and also neither with Peer and Parent Relations, whereas it was observed that with the growth of individuals Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder were more prominent or visibly observed, as null hypothesis H,1e and H,1f were found rejected. Thus age of adolescents with Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder were positively and significantly correlated Observance of adolescents about their school environment and loneliness was found to be positively and significantly correlated but school environment was found negatively correlated with ardety as both null hypotheses H,20 and H.2d were found rejected empirically. In adolescents school environment was found not significantly correlated with either conduct disorder or oppositional defiant disorder as hypothesis H.2a and H.2b were found failed to reject.<br/>The results portrayed a similar pattern in case of adolescents Family Environment as evident from our study. The results rejected the null hypothesis H.3a and H,3b showing a significant but negative correlation of Family Environment with both Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. It was found empirically that family environment played a great role in Conduct Disorder, and Defiant Disorder of challenged adolescents. In line with this finding, as evident from literature, Barnow, Freyberger (2008) also suggested that the family environment in early Ife is very important for a child behavior, aggressive behavior in adolescents is of great interest to mental health professions, as it causes disruptions in the family, school, and peer relations, and predicts higher risks for criminality. substance misuse, and personality disorders in adulthood. |
