Summary, etc |
According to this study the rapid economic growth and global competition in India have made higher education a priority sector, but it is faced with challenges in quantity and quality of education delivery, funding, inclusivity, research and development, employability, and equitable access to international cooperation. Private providers are supplementing state efforts to meet demand for skilled workers. The university education sector is undergoing major reform to become more holistic, flexible, and vibrant. Youth are a significant part of India's human resources, but they lack information, proper education, and employment opportunities. Unemployment rates are higher in urban areas, and educated youth face greater unemployment challenges. While economic liberalization and globalization created employment opportunities, the benefits have not reached Indian youth. Youth are vulnerable to media, political, and market influences, and anti-social elements lure them into dirty politics and crimes. Youth pursuing higher education face problems due to socio-cultural and economic reasons, including adjustment to new environments, systems, and educational setups. |
