The present book makes an in-depth analysis of both historical as well as recent developments in Gilgit-Baltistan-a territory illegally occupied by Pakistan. The politico-security establishment of Pakistan has over the years not only marginalised the indigenous people of Gilgit-Baltistan, but has also been exploiting the precious natural resources with the help of outside powers having vested interests in the region. This has serious ramification on the stability and overall peace and security in the region. The edited volume is an outcome of an international seminar held at the the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) on 19-20 March 2019 on the theme "Gilgit-Baltistan: under Pakistan's Occupation". |
