The present book \\'Gandhi and 21st Century\\' is collection of selected articles presented during the U.G.C. sponsored National Seminar held on the eve of Gandhi\\'s 125th Birth Anniversary Celebrations. Relevance of Gandhi has been discussed on many ways. In the present book, authors from various fields of academic disciplines have discussed the Relevance of Gandhi in the 21st Century. Unlike Marx, Gandhi would not feel enthused even by the concept of appropriate technology because the urgent problem was to reduce rural unemployment which will be the aim of the 21st century. 21st century will be more concerned with environmental challenges of global level wars. In the first-half of the 20th century. Gandhi had led stress on environmental pollution. Gandhian ideals of Truth, Nonviolence, equality of human beings, universal brotherhood, decentralized democracy, socialism and secularism should act as beacon light for the humanity as a whole in the 21st century. Gandhi was probably the most important philosopher whose precepts could guide the crisis ridden world of the 21st century. Thus the present book too focuses the relevance of Gandhian Thought in the 21st century also and hence the importance of this book has increased tremendously.
